i tested it out in creative and it works fine. I have a 1.13 carrot/wheat/potato farm and the potato and wheat guys work perfectly fine. some days they farm like crazy other days they don't. villagers can also be moody in my experience. maybe they are too near an existing village maybe they are too far away. villagers mostly do what they're supposed to do, but sometimes they just don't. The only other thing i'll say, and it's hard to hear, but these types of farms are always finnicky with me. i know these are important to having them break crops. The farmer should have access to his job block (composter) and a bed. (i don't remember what that reason was currently, i read it a few weeks ago) drop that off in a chest or a sorting system.Īre you playing on 1.15.2 or a newer snapshot? i haven't played any of the snapshots but i have a reason to believe that it will "break" this type of automatic farm. the hopper will hoover the wheat and seeds up through the farmland. Now run a hopper-minecart underneath the farmland. the wheat and some of the seeds will just sit there. the villager can pick up some of the seeds but not all of them. if they plant them, they will empty their inventory). now just lock them in a farm and they will wander around breaking fully grown wheat (make sure you plant the seeds yourself. but they will stop farming if they have too much of any one food item. These items will fill the villagers' inventory so that they cannot pick up wheat. So fill their inventory with the following: you used to be able to fill their inventory with seeds, but now they can only hold 4 stacks of the same item. one who you know has nothing in their inventory.
